Making a hammock chair is a fun project. Items Needed: Eye Screws or Eye bolts, Locking Nuts, Tightening Washers, Heavy Duty Nylon Rope, Heavy Duty Wood Dowel, and Nylon Sports Netting. Netting Size Lay down on our back and reach up to the sky. This is how big the netting needs to be. In general, six feet wide and six feet long. It is mostly what you like so think it through before purchasing the material. Dowel Connect two corners of the nylon net to the wood dowel. Make sure the dowel is very sturdy. Triangle Connect rope to the dowel ends and bring the rope into a triangle shape. Hook the top of the triangle to the eye screw or eye bolt. You may wish to purchase other hammock chair hardware so the hammock can spin more freely. Spreader Bars You may consider a longer dowel and drilling holes for a spreader bar. Make the holes wider than the hammock. The spreader bars will hold the hammock open more easily. |
