What goes with a hammock? I think it is me, some time off work, and some lemonade? Really there are many ways to accessorize. Cup Holders Where are you going to put that lemonade? Some hammocks actually have a built in cup holder on the side. If you don’t have one, just pull over an old tree stump or even a lawn chair to hold the drinks. You can also purchase separate drink holders that will clip onto the side of your hammock. Due to stability needs, use a water bottle that can be kept closed when not in use. Hardware There are many hardware accessories to hang the hammock such as eye screws and eye bolts. A strap to hook to trees is also more convenient than knowing how to tie a good knot in a rope. Step Stools Some people need to be careful in getting in and out of the hammock. A step stool can make the process smoother. Some larger people and seniors will need a step stool to get in. Music An outdoor speaker system is ideal. If you don’t have one, an ipod or a simple boom box will make the experience more pleasurable. Put a waterproof pouch on the hammock with a carabiner. Then put the musical remote in the pouch for future use. Stands A stand makes it so you can put the hammock wherever you want it. Most patio hammocks will use a stand because it is more convenient. What if you want to move the hammock? It’s a lot easier with a stand. Tent Fly Some people call it a hammock tent. For inclement weather, it is nice to have something to keep the rain off. A regular tarp will do the job, but a hammock tent will fit very nicely. |
