The term fabric hammock is derived from the Mayan Hammock.  It is distinguishable from the rope hammock.

Fabric hammocks form completely to your body shape.  They are known to be the most comfortable hammock.  However, rope hammocks are more durable.

Nylon and Synthetics

Many camping or backpacking hammocks are made of nylon and other synthetic materials.  These materials make them lightweight, strong, mildew resistant, and take up little space when folded up.

Cotton and Hemp and Other Natural Fibers   

A quilted cotton hammock will breathe well and be extremely comfortable.  Natural fiber hammocks won’t last as well, but are better for the environment.  For this reason, we recommend natural fiber hammocks.
